i love when people blame tumblr for things that have existed for centuries. feminism, nonbinary genders… what fun new decades-old equality movement are we going to blame on a blogging site this week? the abolition of slavery? socialism? stay tuned
I believe they mean that a large congregation of people, some willing to do incredibly destructive and dangerous things for their own skewed views and go to ridiculous lengths to push what they believe in is irresponsible and should be stopped, or even just reigned in somehow.
