hey guys, i need your help. as most of you know, because i’ve made it public, i’m pregnant. i have been living in an apartment since september 2015 and since moving into said apartment my landlord has refused to fix the issues shown above. we have been to court and the court has told us either pay the landlord to fix these things or move out. i called the city and the city gave the landlord 30 days to fix these things, and that was in june. 

now, the cracks and holes are not the biggest issues, although they really do say a lot about the landlord. there are rodents (a family of possums. also, squirrels have gotten into our apartment on multiple occasions through these holes) in our ceiling that have dug holes in the plaster and have caused a lot of these cracks. But that is the least of my problems because in the 3rd picture, that is mold. because the ceiling has cracked in these spots, water has pooled inside of it. every time it rains, more water collects and we have started noticing different discolorations on the ceiling. i’m living somewhere while pregnant where mold is growing in different parts of our house. i don’t know how detrimental this is to my health but i know that it is not good for anyone.

with that being said, given all that has happened with our landlord and just the way this situation has been handled on her end, i need to move out as soon as possible. i am looking at another property but i need to save up about $2,000 before i can leave for security deposit and first months rent on a new property. i’m not asking for help with that saving, i’m asking for help with my current situation. to leave this apartment i have to pay a fee for breaking my lease, pay a fee to the landlord for not giving 30 days notice and pay this months rent. i am not getting my security deposit back either because she has told me that i have been the worst tenant she has ever had (for pestering her to fix my apartment -_-)
