anyone who reads the great gatsby and comes away saying ‘i hate daisy buchanan bc she’s shallow and materialistic and naive’ must be so entirely caught up in nick’s narration and the male gaze that the novel is written through bc the whole lot of them are shallow and materialistic and naive and if you condemn daisy for that while liking/sympathising with gatsby what r u doin
